About The Position
The City of Austin is offering a 2025 High School Summer Internship Program for current high school students in the Austin area. This program is designed for students aged 15 to 18 who are Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors. Interns will have the opportunity to work in various City of Austin departments and local organizations, gaining valuable work experience and enhancing their leadership skills. The internship lasts for 6 weeks, from June 2, 2025, to July 11, 2025, and includes multiple programs such as the Emerging Leaders Internship Program, Get Ready! STEAM Based Internship Program, Aviation Department Internship, and Automotive Internship Program. Applicants must be residents of the City of Austin and are required to submit an essay as part of their application. Candidates must also be available for scheduled interviews and onboarding dates, and attendance is crucial, with a maximum of 3 absences allowed during the program.
