About The Position

The CUNY Conservation Training Summer Internship Program offers an eight-week full-time, paid training internship in the Department of Conservation at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). This program is designed for students who have previously attended the 'What is Art Conservation?' workshops and aims to further their interest in the conservation of cultural heritage while exploring museum careers. Interns will receive training and development through hands-on experiences with conservators across various media specialties, including paintings, works on paper, objects, and conservation science. The program provides an opportunity to gain professional experience during the summer break, enhancing understanding of museum conservation practices through research and laboratory work. The internship requires a full-time, in-person commitment from June 23 to August 15, 2025, with applications due by April 6, 2025.

Requirements

  • Must be a CUNY undergraduate student or graduate who has attended the 'What is Art Conservation?' workshop.
  • Must be enrolled full-time at a CUNY college or have graduated from CUNY in Spring 2022 or later.
