About The Position

Lullabot is seeking a part-time contractor to perform the duties of a Content Entry Assistant within the United States, who will thrive as part of the innovative and supportive team. In this role, you will support large-scale website migration projects by manually transferring content from one system to another that cannot be migrated using an automated process. You’ll work closely with a project manager and content strategists to ensure content is migrated accurately, consistently and efficiently. We’re looking for individuals who are comfortable working independently, enjoy problem-solving, and can follow written and verbal instructions. This role goes beyond data entry or copy/pasting. You’ll be making thoughtful decisions about formatting and structure to ensure content is represented in the new platform in an accessible, user-friendly manner. Successful candidates will have a good understanding of web concepts such as how page structure and content contributes to SEO and website accessibility best practices.

Requirements

  • Understanding of web content best practices, including writing for accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Understanding of how to use basic HTML to create page structure.
  • Understanding of how page structure and content contributes to SEO.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Content Strategy, Computer Science, Web Development, Communications, English, Journalism, or related fields.
  • Writing and editing skills, with a focus on clarity and brevity, and the ability to adapt style and tone for various clients and industries.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with CMS, Google Analytics, Jira, and basic web development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow written and verbal instructions and examples to transfer content between web pages that cannot be migrated using an automated process.
  • Read and adjust content to improve readability by breaking it up with bulleted lists, headers, and other web styling elements as directed.
  • Inspect and edit visual placement of images, and write alt text and captions, to improve page utility and clarity.
  • Add or edit editorial web components so they are used most efficiently and in line with the content strategy and intent of the design system.
  • Edit transferred content based on guidelines provided by content strategy team members.
  • Examine transferred content and re-format according to guidelines provided by a content strategist.
  • Ongoing collaboration with content strategy team to ensure efficiency and quality.
