About The Position

Braun Intertec is seeking students pursuing an engineering degree, construction management, or a related field, as well as other interested candidates, to join either our Bloomington or White Bear Lake, Minnesota offices for a 6-month Co-op opportunity. This position offers a unique chance to gain in-depth technical training and industry certifications upon successful completion of examinations and demonstration of ability. As a Co-op, you will perform a variety of testing on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt. Onsite materials testing will be conducted on various commercial and transportation construction projects, where you will collaborate with project managers and other technicians to ensure that specifications are followed accurately. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and must be able to lift over 75 pounds. The role will frequently require reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. At times, this position may involve working at or on uneven terrain, varying heights, in confined spaces, or supported trenches. This Co-op opportunity is designed to provide valuable field experience and onsite communication with construction crews. You will also participate in a 3-day training event that includes construction safety, soil compaction and classification, American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification, radiation safety, materials lab, and nuclear density gauge training. Throughout the experience, you will be paired with one of our professional engineers as a mentor, gaining exposure to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards. This is a paid opportunity, and all candidates must meet specific requirements to be considered.
