The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an ASIC/FPGA Engineering Undergrad Intern to join the Hardware Security and Specialty Engineering section of the Cyber Defense Solutions Department (CDSD) within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge hardware security research, development, and application, contributing to the security of National Security Space Systems. The intern will engage in various tasks, including developing tools to detect hardware Trojans in digital hardware designs and utilizing software assurance tools to identify potential vulnerabilities in software code. The role also involves defining threat paths and providing guidance on vulnerability mitigations for FPGA/ASIC/embedded systems. The intern will participate in ongoing research or technical programs, collaborating with academic partners and interdisciplinary teams. Training and mentorship are integral to the department's culture, ensuring that interns receive the support they need to succeed in their roles. As part of the ISCD team, the intern will be involved in projects that couple the latest information system technologies with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, and data science. The department supports a variety of customers, including the Space Force's Space Systems Command and the National Reconnaissance Office, addressing unique challenges in implementation and research. This position operates under a hybrid work model, requiring some onsite work in El Segundo, CA, while also allowing for remote work.
