About The Position

The Arlie Schardt Memorial Fellowship Program at Friends of the Earth offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in economic policy and international finance related to environmental advocacy. Requirements

• Passionate about the environment and/or social justice.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• Committed to environmental and social justice.
• Able to work well in a team and independently.
• Motivated, and willing to learn and take initiative.
• Able to use Microsoft Office 365 products such as Excel and Word, and Google applications.

Nice To Haves

• An environmental background.
• Previous (volunteer or paid) experience in non-profit organizations, advocacy, or political campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and publish at least one paper on international finance.
• Attend and potentially lead meetings advocating for the end to international public finance of fossil fuels and increase oversight of international finance for mining projects.
• Discuss papers and topics with the press, including drafting press releases with quotes and in interviews.
