The Analyst I position in Global Investment Banking - Energy, Infrastructure & Transition at CIBC is designed for recent graduates who are eager to contribute to the firm's investment banking efforts in the renewable energy and energy transition sectors. The role will commence in the summer of 2025, and the successful candidate will work closely with a team of experienced professionals, including Managing Directors, Executive Directors, Directors, Associates, and other Analysts. The Analyst will play a crucial role in expanding CIBC Capital Markets' presence in key sectors such as renewable energy, conventional power, utilities, and infrastructure. In this position, the Analyst will be responsible for conducting financial analysis related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and financings. This includes assisting in the preparation of client presentations and pitches, conducting research to identify potential M&A and financing opportunities, and organizing presentations for potential clients. The Analyst will also liaise with other units within CIBC to prepare client materials, ensuring that all recommendations and opinions comply with relevant legislation and maintain the professional standards of the bank. The role requires a strong understanding of financial markets, particularly in the context of the renewables and power sectors. The Analyst will be trained to maintain awareness of clients, industry trends, regulatory issues, and economic factors that may impact transactions.
