About The Position
Westward Seafoods, Alyeska Seafoods, and the Northern Victor are seeking Seasonal Seafood Processors for their shore-based plants located in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, for the 2025 A Season, which begins in the first week of January. This role involves processing various species of seafood, including Pollock, Crab, Pacific Cod, Halibut, and Sablefish. As a processor, you will be responsible for handling raw products delivered from fishing vessels and preparing them for sale to customers. The position requires flexibility, as processors may be assigned to different tasks within the production department, such as butchering, sorting, filleting, and case-up. Additionally, processors are expected to participate in plant clean-up and other assigned duties. The job demands physical endurance, as candidates must be able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions, and regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. The work environment can be cold and wet, with shifts lasting 12 or more hours a day, seven days a week. Regular attendance is crucial, and all employees are required to wear protective safety gear as necessary, promoting a safe working environment for themselves and their colleagues. Westward Seafoods maintains a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol, ensuring a safe and professional workplace. To be considered for this position, applicants must be at least 18 years old, fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and able to pass a post-offer drug screen and physical examination. The company will cover the flight from Seattle, WA, to Dutch Harbor, Alaska, but employees will be charged $20 per day for room and board, which will be deducted from their paychecks.
