About The Position

The Vocal Music Teacher at Davidson Elementary is responsible for creating a flexible and engaging music program for elementary students. The role focuses on fostering a positive learning environment, developing students' musical skills, and establishing effective communication with parents and staff. The teacher will adapt lessons to meet individual student needs and contribute to the overall educational experience in accordance with district policies.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations.
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to individual and small group instruction.
  • Translates lesson plans into effective learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior for a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps records, and prepares progress reports.
  • Communicates with parents to discuss pupil progress and interpret the school program.
  • Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with other staff to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
  • Creates an engaging learning environment with displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
  • Maintains professional competence through in-service education and self-selected growth activities.
  • Selects and requisitions instructional materials and maintains inventory records.
  • Supervises pupils during out-of-classroom activities.
  • Administers group standardized tests as per district requirements.
  • Participates in curriculum development and faculty committees.
  • Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
  • Complies with safety practices and district policies.
