About The Position

The Transportation Department is seeking a Substitute Bus Driver to work on an as-needed basis. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate changes in school schedules. The role involves driving a school bus and ensuring the safety and management of students during transport.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED highly preferred.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must pass a Washington State Patrol and FBI background check.
• Valid bus driver's license WITH CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Meet all qualifications for acquiring an OSPI Type 1 School Bus Driver's Authorization.
• Valid First Aid Card.
• Satisfactory completion of the 'Physical Examination of Commercial Drivers' (DLE-520-061).
• Knowledge and practice of safe driving practices.
• Knowledge and practice of effective student management skills.
• Good driving record.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and days when needed.
• Must have working home/cell phone.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus on an on-call basis.
• Ensure the safety of students during transport.
• Manage student behavior effectively while on the bus.
• Adhere to all safe driving practices.
