About The Position

The Leander Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher. This position includes a $1000 sign-on bonus and is open until filled. The teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities, ensuring they receive the support needed to succeed academically and socially.

Requirements

• Valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with orientation and mobility for visually impaired students.
• Knowledge of assistive technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by state and federal regulations.
