Einstein Charter Schools is a nonprofit Charter Management Organization whose mission is to nurture students to be academically STRONG as well as socially and emotionally resilient. Founded in 2005, Einstein Charter Schools is a top performing, tuition free, open admissions network of 4 schools in New Orleans East, serving grades PK-12. Our schools are: Sherwood Forest, Village De L'est, Einstein Middle School, and Sarah T. Reed High School. Authorized by the Orleans Parish School Board, we service the needs of more than 1,600 students, over 30% of whom receive ELL services.   • Meet all standards of performance for individual teaching assignment, including those standards specified in LDOE Rubric
  • Increase student achievement per the Einstein Way.
  • Adhere to, comply with, and implement all directives, policies, laws, and regulations as required by Einstein Charter Schools.
  • Utilize planning time to meet with administrators, coaches, colleagues, students, and parents, for the purpose of increasing student achievement.
  • Actively participate and work with other personnel during planning time in planning effective instructional goals, objectives, methods, and curriculum and to analyze data.
  • Submit lesson plans, utilizing Einstein's lesson plan format, and homework assignments to the Principal's Office for review before they are to be implemented.
  • Incorporate a variety of instructional models, strategies, and resources that also include accommodating individual learning styles, technology, and higher order thinking.
  • Maintain a grade book/attendance book that meets required guidelines shared at the beginning of the year Professional Development.
  • Actively supervise students during lunch duty, before and after school duty.
  • Submit to the office or other designated persons all requested items on time.
  • Assist in planning and implement specific individual educational plans (504, IEP, etc.)
  • Plan lessons, provide materials and supervise assigned para-educator daily to ensure effective small group instruction.
  • Cooperate with the Principal, Leadership Team, and/or Department Head(s)/Chairs in assessing the performance of paraeducators and other assigned individuals.
  • Participate in professional staff committees, meetings, in-services, workshops, conferences, and other designated activities to perform all assigned duties.
  • Cooperate with Principal, Leadership Team, and/or Department Head(s)/Chairs, and Grade Level Coordinators to perform all assigned duties.
  • Enforce school wide rules that are fair, consistent, and attainable using the PBIS model.
  • Create a classroom climate in which students display initiative, develop discipline, and assume personal responsibilities for learning.
  • Manage disruptive behavior constructively, quickly, and within the scope of the Parent/Student Handbook, while ensuring safety of all.
  • Guide the learning process of students in the classroom toward the achievement of curriculum goals set by Einstein Charter Schools and/or appropriate federal guidelines.
  • Assist the administration in implementing all Einstein Charter Schools policies.
  • Achieve those objectives/activities included in the Professional Growth Plan developed jointly with the Principal's Office and Leadership Team as part of the accountability process mandated by the state legislature, district, and Employing Authority requirements.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal's Office.
