The Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing in College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2025-26 academic year. Successful candidates will be able to teach a range of courses in mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, or advanced manufacturing. The department's three programs share several courses and faculty members regularly teach across the disciplines. California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Expertise in at least one of the three department disciplines

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience
  • Advanced or terminal degrees in related disciplines
  • Industrial experience in mechanical or mechatronic engineering or advanced manufacturing
  • Professional credentials such as a professional engineer's license and/or manufacturing specific certifications such as CMfgE or CMfgT
  • Bilingual candidates will be given preference
