About The Position

California State University (CSU), Chico is seeking candidates for the position of Academic Year Lecturer in the Electrical/Electronic and Computer Engineering Department. This position is part of the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management. Requirements

  • Master of Science or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related area from an accredited university by the time of employment, OR a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electrical/Electronic, or Computer Engineering or a related field from an accredited university and three years of practice in a relevant field.
  • Strong commitment to teaching with a proven record or potential for developing innovative pedagogical approaches.
  • Willingness to participate as a team member to assess student outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of the educational goals of a diverse and multicultural population.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, particularly in lower division courses and in laboratory and capstone courses that emphasize engineering design.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses and laboratories in electrical and computer engineering.
  • Develop innovative pedagogical approaches to courses, labs, and projects.
  • Assess student performance and adapt to changes in the curriculum.
  • Support undergraduate students in their laboratory efforts, including teaching safety protocols and providing guidance in project construction.
  • Mentor student projects and teach relevant upper division core courses.
