About The Position

The job of CE Childcare Associate I is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for implementing programs for the personal and emotional growth of the referred students; assisting in the monitoring of behaviors; and communicating observations to teachers, parents and administrators. This job reports to CE Childcare Associate V.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Job related experience is desired.
  • Level One Fingerprint Card.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Annual TB Skin Test.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Copy of MMR Vaccination Record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of stages of child development.
  • Skills in motivating and controlling children.

Responsibilities

  • Administers first aid for the purpose of providing immediate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured children.
  • Assists students as needed with personal care needs (e.g. diapering, toilet training, feeding, etc.).
  • Assists the site manager with age appropriate activities by working with individual or small groups of children.
  • Communicates with internal staff to convey and/or receive information required to perform job functions.
  • Completes a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually to meet mandated requirements.
  • Distributes instructional and/or play materials to provide required supplies.
  • Establishes positive individual relationships to build student confidence and self-esteem.
  • Implements instructional programs and lesson plans under the supervision of the assigned site manager.
  • Maintains classroom equipment, work area, and records to ensure availability and safety.
  • Maintains acceptable behavior standards consistent with district and program policy.
  • Monitors individual and/or groups of students in various settings to provide a safe learning environment.
  • Organizes age appropriate indoor and/or outdoor activities.
  • Prepares nutritional snacks, lunches, bottles, etc. to comply with established guidelines.
  • Provides ongoing feedback to inform supervisor, teacher, and parents of students' progress.
  • Transfers children directly from/to parents or designee to ensure safety.
