About The Position

The Teacher - Technology position at Aspen Community School is a part-time role (0.6 FTE) focused on providing an environment for students to achieve their intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. The teacher will be responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program and providing direct instruction in technology education, ensuring that each student's abilities are catered to. The position requires a commitment to student achievement and adherence to educational standards set by the State Department of Education and the SFPS Board of Education.

Requirements

• Minimum four-year degree.
• Current New Mexico teaching PreK-6 license or New Mexico Specialty license with Technology Education endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction.
• Delivers curriculum using adopted textbooks.
• Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom hours.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior.
• Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth and prepares progress reports.
• Identifies pupil needs and develops strategies for individual education plans (IEPs).
• Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
• Plans and coordinates the work of paraprofessionals, parents, and volunteers.
• Creates an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays.
• Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment and develop common assessments.
• Models professional and ethical standards in interactions with students, parents, peers, and the community.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
