About The Position

The Assistant Coach for Volleyball at Nina Otero Community School is responsible for developing student-athletes and ensuring team success through sport-specific training and event participation. The role aims to provide students with a positive in-season sport experience and to facilitate their physical development during off-season training guided by the department.

Requirements

• High School graduation.
• Must meet all NMAA/PED requirements for Coaching Licensure.

Nice To Haves

• College degree.
• Prior high school coaching experience.
• Two years of sport-specific participation/training and/or prior coaching experience at the high school level or above.
• Bilingual in English-Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Teach the sport using the Six Pillars of Sportsmanship: Respect, Integrity, Honesty, Teamwork, Leadership, and Personal Responsibility.
• Develop student-athletes through sport-specific training.
• Participate in events and competitions.
• Ensure compliance with NMAA/PED requirements for coaching licensure.
• Maintain professional relations with supervisors, parents, student-athletes, media, boosters, officials, and co-workers.
