About The Position

The Substitute Teacher position is designed for individuals who will provide student instruction consistent with the goals and directives of the school district during the absence of the regular teacher. The role involves ensuring the effective care, custody, and control of all students assigned to the daily caseload. Substitute teachers will be employed by Comprehensive Substitute Solutions and will work in various public school districts in Hamilton and Clermont Counties.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid substitute teaching credential issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
  • Be at least 22 years of age or have completed two years of college.
  • Adhere to and enforce all Board Policies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
  • Maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff.
  • Ensure adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to emergency and unusual situations.
  • Demonstrate mobility by responding promptly to potential concerns or issues.
  • Facilitate procedures for transitions, emergencies, and use of materials.
  • Utilize locking mechanisms, door barricades, and other physical features for safety.
  • Report to office upon arrival at school and check mailbox of absent teacher.
  • Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority.
  • Implement lesson plans while ensuring the integrity of academic time.
  • Organize students for effective instruction.
  • Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building.
  • Provide report or summary of activities accomplished and lesson plans completed.
  • Complete substitute feedback on AESOP.
  • Collect and place students' papers in the regular teacher's desk.
  • Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to the proper place.
  • Determine if sub services will be required for the next school day.
  • Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies.
  • Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s).
