The Classroom Teacher is directly responsible to the school principal or designee. The role involves providing planned instruction in each subject assigned, following the course of study specified in state law and school district regulations, and providing learning experiences to encourage maximum growth for each student. The teacher will select and use appropriate materials available in the district for students and subjects assigned, evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and communicate with parents and staff on the individual pupil's progress. Additionally, the teacher will identify pupil needs and consult with other professional staff in assessing and helping pupils solve health, behavioral, and learning problems. Maintaining basic student records, attending faculty meetings, and participating in professional development activities are also key responsibilities.
