The 2025 - 2026 Software Engineer Program - Academic Internship role is open until August 8, 2025, unless the class is filled before that date. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. As an Intern in the 2025 - 2026 Software Engineer Academic Internship, you will help build and optimize digital applications and systems that support millions of customers, clients and employees worldwide. You will work in an agile team with peers and experienced software engineers to grow your skills, share ideas and innovate with our technology community all over the world.

  • Work with your current SEP Internship Manager, at your assigned JPMorgan Chase office, to create innovative solutions that make a difference for our customers, clients, and employees.
  • Work on agile teams with peers and experienced software engineers.
  • Work a maximum of 19 hours per week on agile teams with peers and experienced software engineers to grow your skills, share ideas and innovate with our technology community all over the world.
  • During Winter/Spring Break only, Academic Interns can work up to 40 hours a week.
  • Completion of the 2025 Software Engineer Internship Program and the acceptance of a 2026 Internship or Full-Time Software Engineer Program offer with JPMorgan Chase.
  • Pursuing a B.A., B.S. or 5th year M.A. or M.S. with expected graduation between December 2025 and June 2027 (all majors considered).
  • A well-rounded academic background.
  • Foundational knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, C#), databases, data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency and Security.
  • Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • In touch with industry wide technology trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture.
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement.
  • Computer Science and/or Engineering majors are preferred.
