About The Position

The KIPP North Carolina Teaching Fellow role is designed for individuals interested in exploring a teaching career within a supportive environment. As a Teaching Fellow, you will collaborate with Lead Teachers to deliver a rigorous and joyful education to students, ensuring they reach their full potential. This position involves leading small group instruction, covering for absent teachers, and actively participating in curriculum development and school culture building.

Requirements

  • A conferred Bachelor's degree by the start date.

Responsibilities

  • Support curriculum development and instruction by adapting and executing rigorous, standards-aligned curricula.
  • Assist teachers in implementing academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments.
  • Provide daily feedback to students on their performance and plan for individual learning needs.
  • Receive guidance and materials from ELA/Math teachers to support struggling students.
  • Embody and maintain the school's values, policies, and culture.
  • Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff.
  • Establish and maintain strong communication with families and share student progress.
  • Attend critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, and family-teacher conferences.
  • Support school operations through classroom coverage and contribute to out-of-classroom activities, including before school, lunch, recess, and afterschool.
  • Pursue challenging professional goals each year and participate in school-wide and individual professional development.
