The Classroom Teacher is directly responsible to the school principal or designee. The teacher is expected to provide planned instruction in each subject assigned, following the course of study specified in state law and school district regulations. The role involves creating learning experiences that encourage maximum growth for each student, selecting appropriate materials for instruction, and evaluating pupils' academic and social growth. Communication with parents and staff regarding individual pupil progress is essential. The teacher will also identify pupil needs and consult with other professional staff to address health, behavioral, and learning problems. Maintaining basic student records and participating in faculty meetings are also part of the responsibilities. Continuous professional development through inservice education activities is encouraged, along with maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
