About The Position

The Classroom Instructor creates a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the Classroom Instructor must work closely with other staff, the administration, and other programs of Dodge City Public Schools.

Requirements

• Copy of current Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) License or verification of licensure in process.
• Evidence of readiness to go above and beyond assigned duties.
• Willingness to learn and take direction.

• Flexibility with schedule and student needs.
• Demonstrated ability to assess needs and respond appropriately.
• Better than average recommendations from supervisors.
• Ability to meet District standards for physical and mental health.
• Personal qualities that establish a desirable example for students.
• Kansas Certification of Health on file in the Central Office.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and experience with bilingual education instruction and methodology.
• ESL/ESOL endorsement preferred.
• Advanced degree or specialized training in curriculum content and instructional pedagogy preferred.
• Highly Qualified under No Child Left Behind preferred.
• Kansas certification in content area assignment or certification from another state allowing for licensure in Kansas.
