About The Position

The position is for a Crossing Guard within the Transportation department of the Leander Independent School District. The role involves ensuring the safety of students as they cross streets and navigate traffic in the vicinity of schools. The Crossing Guard will be responsible for directing traffic and assisting children in safely crossing the road during school hours.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a national criminal background check.
• Must be willing to be fingerprinted as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and direct traffic at designated crossing points.
• Assist students in safely crossing streets.
• Ensure the safety of children during arrival and dismissal times.
• Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unsafe driving behaviors.
