Perform clerical tasks in support of assigned area including cashiering, sorting, filing, and copying.
Assist with the instruction of aquatic swimming and safety courses.
Monitor activities in City swimming areas and prevent accidents.
Provide customer service and assistance to swimmers.
Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administer first aid as needed.
Lead and oversee staff responsible for safety at City swimming pools.
Supervise employees at assigned City swimming facility.
Maintain facility according to State, City, and department regulations.

Must be at least 16 years old for Aquatics Aide, 15 years old for Lifeguard Instructor, and 18 years old for Head Lifeguard.
Possession of a valid water attraction lifeguard certificate or swim lesson instructor certificate within three months from date of hire.
Possession of a valid CPR, first aid, and lifeguard certificate.
Three seasons of aquatic program experience for Pool Supervisor.
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a valid Certified Pool Operator's certificate within six months from date of hire.

Office and/or clerical support experience preferred.
Supervisor and/or lead experience preferred.
Knowledge of principles and procedures of clerical support.
Knowledge of basic swimming and water safety.

Hourly rate for Aquatics Aide: $13.00
Hourly rate for Lifeguard/Swim Instructor: $13.50
Hourly rate for Head Lifeguard: $15.00
Hourly rate for Pool Supervisor: $16.50
