About The Position

The Lincoln Elementary and CATS School Counselor position is a certificated specialist role for the 2024-25 school year only. The working hours are from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling 7 hours per day. The counselor will be responsible for supporting students in various capacities, including academic, social, and emotional development, while collaborating with staff and parents to ensure a positive educational experience.

Requirements

• Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate Certificate in School Counseling.
• Master's degree in guidance and counseling or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with high school students preferred.
• Experience with scheduling, assessments, and state standards preferred.
• Experience working with at-risk students preferred.
• Knowledge of college and career prep programs.
• Experience with diverse cultural, linguistic, social, and economic backgrounds.
• Familiarity with the ASCA model.
• Experience with RTI implementation and strategies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience in implementing PBIS and SEL programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term counseling in small-group and individual settings.
• Make referrals to appropriate school and community resources.
• Implement 504 and behavior plans for students.
• Use student data to identify gaps in achievement, attendance, opportunity, and discipline.
• Collaborate and consult effectively with staff, students, and parents.
• Implement PBIS and SEL programs, and understand Trauma-Informed Schools principles.
