About The Position

The ELL Teacher at Palomino Primary School is responsible for providing instructional support to English Language Learners (ELL) in a full-time interim position. The role involves developing lesson plans, delivering individualized and group instruction, and collaborating with other educators and staff to enhance student learning outcomes. The teacher will assess student progress, communicate with parents, and manage classroom behavior to create a safe and effective learning environment.

Requirements

  • Teaching Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related area
  • Experience in lesson planning
  • Knowledge of algebra and/or geometry
  • Ability to apply assessment instruments and operate standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Administers developmental testing programs and subject-specific assessments to assess student competency levels.
  • Advises parents and legal guardians on student progress and methods for improvement.
  • Assesses student progress towards objectives and provides feedback to students, parents, and administration.
  • Collaborates with instructional staff and community resources to improve student outcomes.
  • Counsels students to improve performance and address personal issues.
  • Demonstrates pedagogical approaches that engage learners effectively.
  • Differentiates classroom work to meet individual student needs.
  • Directs assistant teachers and volunteers to support classroom programs.
  • Facilitates student learning through defined lesson plans.
  • Instructs students to improve academic success.
  • Manages student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Monitors students in various educational settings to ensure safety.
  • Organizes age-appropriate activities to promote student participation.
  • Participates in PLC teams to review data and instructional practices.
  • Attends meetings to convey and gather necessary information.
  • Prepares written materials to document student progress and meet requirements.
  • Reports health and safety issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Responds to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns.
  • Handles inquiries from various sources to resolve issues.
