About The Position
The Substitute Teacher position is an exempt professional role that requires maintaining a positive learning environment and responding to the individual needs of students. The substitute teacher will implement effective lessons in the absence of the regular instructor, ensuring that district policies are observed during all activities. The role involves creating a safe classroom environment conducive to learning, supervising all children in the classroom at all times, and being familiar with emergency procedures such as fire exits and severe weather protocols. Confidentiality must be maintained as per the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The substitute teacher is expected to report for duty 30 minutes early and remain on duty for the entire assignment, including the teacher's planning time.
