Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Classroom and video platforms such as Zoom or Teams.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage the entire classroom.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience working in diverse communities and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
  • Demonstrated integrity and high standards in managing information confidentially.

  • Experience in a school setting or with children.

Responsibilities

  • Substitute teach students in grades Kindergarten - 8th grade as needed due to teacher absences or leaves of absence.
  • Create a classroom environment that cultivates learning and engages students' interests.
  • Utilize provided academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments aligned to Athlos' foundational pillars.
  • Deliver instruction that engages students and ensures growth and achievement in accordance with grade level standards.
  • Differentiate instruction based on individual needs, learning styles, and abilities.
  • Communicate a deep belief that all students can learn and belong in the classroom.
  • Implement school-wide management policies consistently.
  • Develop classroom rules, systems, and procedures to create a positive learning environment.
  • Hold high expectations for student behavior at all times.
  • Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, staff, and community members.
  • Create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all.
  • Communicate professionally with parents/guardians and the community.
  • Communicate with lead teacher to meet expectations and maximize effective instructional activities.
  • Model the Athlos culture and implement school policies.
  • Track student attendance, behavioral issues, and classroom events.
  • Give and receive positive and constructive feedback from colleagues.
