Interns will report to a director of a Shaw University Divinity School program, such as the Center for Racial and Social Justice, Black Church Revitalization Collaborative, and Nurturing Children and Youth for the Future. Interns will assist the directors in carrying out programming and events, including, but not limited to, the 2025 Shaw University Divinity School Minister's Conference.

  • Assist the director in the preparation, carrying out, and follow-up of approximately four in-person events, including the Minister's Conference.
  • Work with the SUDS program director to prepare for events, including designing materials, scheduling venues, and transport of materials.
  • Attend and staff each event, with responsibilities including set-up and tear down, hosting, check-in, moderating, photography, and tech support.
  • Follow-up on each event, including building a database, conducting surveys, and managing other communications.
  • Support approximately four in-person events during the internship.
  • Enrolled as a Shaw University Divinity School student in good standing.
  • Ability to effectively engage and work together with others.
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and produce accurate professional work products under demanding timelines.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel independently and work extended workdays and occasional weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Legally operate an automobile in the State of North Carolina with a valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with the characteristics of a private, religious-affiliated institution of higher education.
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills.
  • Excellence in organization, decision-making, problem-solving, and creating a collaborative environment.
  • Interns will receive training.
