About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of 3.0 college credit hours in food service related courses or one year of experience in quantity food preparation and service.
• Knowledge in the safe operation of commercial food service kitchen equipment.
• Possession of a valid Driver License may be required.
• Successful completion of ServSafe within the first six months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of principles of basic food preparation including weights and measurements and storage procedures.
• Knowledge of standards of personal hygiene, appearance, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
• Knowledge of effective methods of leadership and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the preparation and serving of various food items according to standardized recipes.
• Check and operate all food preparation equipment following sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Organize food serving counters and steam tables; serve food to students.
• Operate point of sale during meal service as assigned.
• Store packaged food in coolers/freezers and transfer food and kitchen supplies according to safety requirements.
• Maintain inventory records of food and supplies; record quantity of used/leftover food products.
• Participate in in-service training and attend meetings.
• Maintain clean and sanitary preparation area and equipment, including food preparation surfaces and kitchen appliances.
• Utilize cleaning agents according to label instructions and prescribed safety precautions.
• Adhere to all applicable Federal regulations, School Board policies, and Food Service directives.
• Perform necessary data input and maintenance and maintain records.
• Create work orders as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
