About The Position

Fenton Charter Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Classroom Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year. This position requires a California multiple subject teaching credential (preliminary or clear) and EL Authorization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching in a self-contained classroom setting for grades kindergarten through sixth grade, creating a flexible program and environment that fosters learning and personal growth for all students. The teacher will motivate students to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for academic success, while establishing positive relationships with parents and staff members. The teacher will implement a cognitively challenging instructional program as outlined in the approved charter petition, differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Collaboration with school faculty and administration is essential to develop a coherent instructional program. The teacher will be expected to communicate effectively with students, parents, and community representatives, ensuring a rigorous educational program is provided. A thorough understanding of content and pedagogy is necessary, along with a commitment to the education of all students, regardless of their backgrounds. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the teacher will monitor student learning, provide timely feedback, and establish a safe and supportive classroom environment. The role includes participation in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, utilizing behavior modification techniques, and maintaining clear behavior expectations for students. The teacher will also reflect on their practice to improve instruction and evaluate the performance of subordinate personnel as needed. This position reports directly to the Director of the Charter School and requires a commitment to fostering a collaborative school culture.
