About The Position

Chevron is seeking Earth Science Interns for the 2024-2025 recruiting season. Interns will work within multi-disciplinary teams, gaining technical skills in geoscience, geophysics, and petrophysics. The role focuses on exploration, development, reservoir characterization, and well operations, with an emphasis on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), geothermal, and hydrogen technologies. Interns will be assigned to projects that align with their academic background and career objectives, receiving guidance from supervisors and technical mentors.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or Doctorate Thesis program or less than 2 years post-graduate experience in geology, geophysics, geological engineering, or related fields.
• Professional/academic focus in a technical area aligned with Chevron's business needs.
• Strong academic performance in core programs, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Problem-solving skills, analytics, and exposure to coding & data science concepts.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with industry workflows for subsurface characterization.
• Participation in an energy industry or sponsored university research project.
• Practical experience with geoscience coding, data science, and/or machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in geoscience, geophysics, and petrophysics assignments.
• Contribute to projects focused on exploration, development, reservoir characterization, and well operations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including geologists, geophysicists, engineers, data scientists, and software developers.
• Engage in building capabilities in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), geothermal, and hydrogen.
