We are seeking an experienced Architect to lead and evolve our API strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams to define standards, guide implementation, and ensure secure, scalable, and observable API ecosystems. The ideal candidate has deep experience in API design and architecture, API gateway implementation (OCI API Gateway knowledge preferred), REST and GraphQL knowledge, CI/CD pipeline integration, and API observability, coupled with a strong development background in object-oriented languages.

  • API Governance & Strategy
  • Contribute actively to internal API Work Groups to define, review, and evolve API standards and practices.
  • Develop and enforce API guidelines and best practices across the organization.
  • Maintain and drive adoption of OpenAPI Specifications (OAS) to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Guide and mentor development teams on API design, implementation, and integration patterns.
  • Lead the design and implementation of API Gateway solutions, with a preference for OCI API Gateway.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to integrate APIs into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive API observability, including logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Work with SRE and DevOps to ensure SLAs and performance benchmarks are met for all APIs.
  • Define and implement API security strategies, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
  • Ensure APIs adhere to regulatory and organizational compliance requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in APIs and microservices.
  • Drive innovation by introducing new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve API lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience as an API Architect or in a similar senior technical role.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with OpenAPI Specification.
  • Strong expertise in API Gateway technologies, especially OCI API Gateway or similar (e.g., Azure APIM, Kong).
  • Proficient in CI/CD practices for APIs using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in API observability and monitoring using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, preferably Java or .NET.
  • Good understanding and practical experience with GraphQL and REST APIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of API security, including OAuth2, JWT, mutual TLS, rate limiting, and threat protection.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and service mesh technologies.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
