About The Position

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for vaccinating and weighing birds for assigned farms. This is an individual contributor role. Performs preventative and routine maintenance on systems. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Independently administers vaccines correctly and weigh birds according to set schedules Develop and maintain relationships open, working relationship with assigned contract growers Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations All other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Biology, Poultry Science or related field from accredited institution EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Intermediate math and computer skills Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequently lifts up to 50 lbs Frequently lifts overhead Walks in an outside environment (including inclement weather conditions) on a daily basis, ranging from one to several miles per day Works in an environment with strong, foul odors Frequently uses visual skills to inspect birds, production charts and scales Must use smelling senses to distinguish irregular odors Frequently enters confined space areas Frequently exposed to heat (incubators are 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit) Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
