The position involves managing day-to-day operations in the robotic weld area, ensuring team efficiency, and enforcing safety policies and company rules. The role requires critical thinking to solve conflicts, effective communication with other plants and departments regarding materials, and completing quality checks. The individual will be responsible for inspecting road safety components, ensuring all welds are present and correct per the drawing, and reworking any weldments that do not meet requirements. Feedback to other welders on acceptable weld quality is also a key responsibility, along with producing assemblies of metal work pieces to quality and efficiency standards. The position requires reading check sheets and prints to determine specifications and accurately completing all required functions to ensure quality products are produced and shipped to customers. A thorough understanding of welding and cutting processes, robotic welding, and the application of assembly techniques is essential. The role also includes performing maintenance and 5S housekeeping, using hand tools for inspection, and contributing to a team environment while complying with all company policies and procedures.

  • Thorough understanding and application of welding and cutting processes.
  • Understand and apply robotic welding including basic programming and troubleshooting.
  • Perform maintenance and/or 5S housekeeping per established schedules.
  • Use hand tools such as calipers and height gauges for inspection.
  • Work and communicate in a team environment.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate, and highly productive manner.
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent courses in welding operations (manual and/or robotic) with a Level II Certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment with manual or robotic weld operation and set-up.
  • Basic to intermediate math skills to analyze information and measuring equipment.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to train others.
