About The Position

Hoffer Plastics is hiring for a Shipping Manager for the 1st shift. The company is an industry leader and innovator looking for individuals who want to make a difference. Requirements

• Minimum educational requirements: High school graduate or G.E.D preferred plus additional specialized training.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to direct/supervise upwards of 15 individuals.
• Results oriented with a focus on Customer Service.
• Over 3 years in related work including lesser positions.
• Ability to perform diversified duties involving extensive knowledge of shipping operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate inventory control using the 4th shift database and handheld scanner guns.
• Assist in the development of new packaging according to customer requirements.
• Train subordinates effectively in every aspect of their job.
• Motivate and influence others for improved productivity and performance.
• Handle problem employees, assess performance, coach and counsel, and administer corrective discipline as needed.
• Communicate effectively with employees and all levels of management.
• Evaluate all subordinates regularly to ensure proper feedback in their performance.
• Ensure compliance with all appropriate safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Conduct safety and cleanliness audits as required.
• Manage daily operations of the Shipping group to avoid late shipments and clerical errors.
• Ensure subordinates are adequately trained and cross-trained.
• Identify problem areas and make necessary adjustments.
