The 1st Shift - Sewing Machine Operator position at Aerotek involves working in a production environment with a focus on handling steel wire roping and operating industrial sewing machines. Responsibilities
- Handle steel wire roping, including unloading trucks and storing for future production.
- Braid steel wire rope according to customer specifications, requiring extensive use of hands, wrists, and arms.
- Operate industrial sewing machines to sew stitching on straps of varying lengths and thicknesses.
- Follow specific stitch patterns as outlined in work orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Complete training program within 6 months, with initial hands-on training for about 4 weeks.
Requirements
- Previous production experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks.
- Strong hand, wrist, and arm coordination.
- Attention to detail for following specific stitch patterns.
- Ability to work independently after initial training.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in assembly, picking, and packing.
