About The Position

Custom Culinary®, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a 1st Shift Mixer Operator to be responsible for assembling usable products, verifying Critical Control Points (CCPs), and ensuring the proper transfer of products to the packaging area. Custom Culinary is a provider of branded and customer brand / “private label” soup bases, flavor concentrates, sauces, gravies, and other flavor enhancing products. They sell primarily into foodservice (restaurants, hospitals, schools, and cafeterias), industrial (food manufacturers, assemblers, and commissaries), and specialty retail (grocery store foodservice, convenience stores, and meal kits). Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions
  • Basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Strong knowledge of Packaging operations including machine operating background
  • Knowledge of Inventory (DAX) system
  • Ability to lift minimum 50lb. containers
  • Ability to complete forklift certification program

Responsibilities

  • Assembling usable products
  • Verifying Critical Control Points (CCPs)
  • Ensuring the proper transfer of products to the packaging area
  • Reading and interpreting formulas
  • Following procedures precisely
  • Documenting work on batch sheets
  • Learning and operating the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) touchscreen for kettles
  • Performing sanitation duties, including the operation of a Clean-In-Place (CIP) system
  • Setting up product transfer pathways
  • Operating diaphragm pumps
  • Continual swabbing of cooking equipment
  • Operating multiple kettles and hydraulic systems
  • Relaying critical information to the Research and Development (R&D) team in a timely manner
  • Operating product scales and ensuring accurate measurements
  • Completing all assigned training and demonstrating understanding of trained activities
  • Supporting British Retail Consortium (BRC) audit requirements, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and legal standards
  • Additional responsibilities as required to support departmental goals
