About The Position

The individual who functions in this position must carry out all the functions associated with being a Machinist C. To qualify as a Machinist C an individual must be able to set up and operate all machining equipment with or without instruction and perform all the following: Set up and operate Centerless, Surface Grinders and Cylindrical Grinding equipment. Cutting, Grinding and Annealing Punches. Set up and operate various types of machine tools and perform progressive machining operations for tools or equipment parts with close tolerances. Layout, fit and assemble tools where necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Two years of vocational technical training with certification in machining, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to read a ruler, set calipers, read blueprints, micrometer, and all gauges and measuring devices.
• Two years of mechanical and machining experience is required.
• Ability to perform work independent of supervision.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs. unassisted.
• Standing for extended periods of time to a maximum of 8 hours.
• Stooping, bending, and stretching, as necessary.
• Good hand to eye coordination.
