About The Position

The Machine Operator - Die Cast position at Cascade Die Casting Group involves operating die cast machines, trim presses, and related equipment. The role requires performing basic quality checks and documenting performance on an hourly basis while adhering to safety regulations. The operator must demonstrate the ability to follow standardized work instructions and complete production goals, as well as diagnose and perform minor repairs on machinery.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic math, reading, and writing.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Lock Out/Tag Out experience preferred.
  • Crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures to perform die casting and/or trim machine operation.
  • Complete tasks and targeted production goals (scrap/uptime) on a daily basis to meet production standards.
  • Diagnose and perform minor repairs on die cast and trim press machines, and robot gripper systems.
  • Repair water, hot oil, and minor hydraulic leaks on die.
  • Pull and set slides.
  • Put robot in auto mode.
  • Maneuver through Panel View on auto trim presses.
  • Operate ladle and recip.
  • Visually inspect for defects following established procedures.
  • Accurately enter data into production software and quality systems.
  • Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to the proper supervisor.
  • Learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes, including cross-training and working on multiple machines.
  • Properly complete daily paperwork.
  • Work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area consistent with safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Work safely around and/or while operating heavy equipment or manufacturing machinery.
  • Work overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime.
  • Regularly report for work on time with a desire to perform to the best of abilities.
  • Perform Job Specific Training Form duties if available.
  • Comply with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow all standardized work instructions including quality inspection processes.
  • Communicate and exchange problem areas with supervisors and fellow coworkers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
