Responsibilities

  • Read and understand technical specifications on test procedures
  • Follow qualification test plans with guidance from engineering
  • Perform torque and mechanical performance tests on fasteners using calibrated testing equipment such as torque wrenches, and micrometers
  • Prepare fastener samples and fixtures according to test specifications, industry standards and customer requirements
  • Accurately set up and operate torque testing equipment, recording critical data such as breakaway torque, installation torque, and removal torque
  • Analyze and document test results, identify deviations, and provide insight on test results for internal teams or customers
  • Maintain and troubleshoot torque wrenches and test bolt measuring devices for optimal use
  • Follow standard operating procedures and quality protocols related to fastener testing and laboratory safety
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to evaluate fastener performance and support product development
  • Maintain detailed records of test procedures, sample identification, and results for traceability and audit compliance
  • Assist in the development and improvement of testing methods and fixtures for unique or custom fastener applications
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and industry best practices
  • Organize testing kits and follow report-out structure on status of in process testing

Requirements

  • Associates' degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must know basic computer skills
  • Must be very detail and data oriented
