About The Position

As a vital part of the Curing line, the Hang Operator is responsible for combing each belly properly and placing it on the metal trees according to company SOPs/GMPs. The Operator must be able to comb approximately 7-8 bellies a minute, with an average weight of 10-30 lbs. per belly. In addition, the Operator is responsible for inspection and proper placement of the bellies. This Team Member must be able to lift, turn, and position bellies entering the injector at the rate of approximately 12-16 bellies per minute. This is an entry-level position, and no experience is required.

Requirements

• Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.
• Must be willing to push, pull, carry, and/or lift 40+ pounds for some positions.
• Must be willing to work in damp, cold, or hot environments, and reach above shoulder level.
• Must be able to perform the duties of the position and stand for 8-10 hours a day.
• Must wear PPE, ear protection, hair net, and beard guard.
• Must have good hand/eye coordination.
• Must be willing to climb up and down steps/stairs to get to and from the work areas when needed.

Responsibilities

• Comb each belly properly and place it on the metal trees according to company SOPs/GMPs.
• Inspect and ensure proper placement of the bellies.
• Assist in preparing workstations each day, including setting up necessary items such as the combing table and floor stands.
• Comply with all Tyson safety policies, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation following USDA Regulations and Tyson Processing GMPs.
• Ensure belly is properly fed into the injector, combed, and placed on the hanging tree in accordance with company SOPs/GMPs.
