About The Position

As a CNC Operator, you’ll be part of our Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing team located in Berea, OH. You will read and interpret work instructions, prints, and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions. With assistance, you will troubleshoot, edit, and optimize new production programs to ensure efficient overall production. You will calculate and set machine controls to specific work orders and regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow. Additionally, you will document new program changes and processes to ensure setups can be duplicated and overall production time is optimized. You will observe the operation of the machine and verify the conformance of the machined work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers. Deburring parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications and following all safety policies and procedures are also part of your responsibilities. You will set up machines on a flexible basis to ensure optimum output throughout the shop and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience as CNC mill/lathe operator preferred.
  • Experience verifying dimensions of parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, depth gauges, and/or fixed gauges.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Flexibility in work assignments.
  • Must be able to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking.
  • Must be able to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours daily.
  • Must be able to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 70 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must be able to work daily and weekly overtime as required.

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
