As a Job 1st Shift Assembly Team Lead you’ll be part of our Allentown, PA team! You’ll get to: • Safety - Lead department to ensure a safe work environment and safe behavior o Act as Safety Champion and 1st point of contact for employee ideas and concerns o Correct safety concerns within scope of authority or escalate to manager, while continuing to remain involved through resolution o Initiate incident investigation and seek first aid treatment as needed for department safety incidents o Monitor team performance to ensure safety compliance • Training - Coordinate departmental training program o Update ISO training documents as needed o Review, revise as needed, and sign-off on ISO training documents every 12-months o Review changes with team and ensure training is applied o Monitor team performance to ensure training compliance • Employee Engagement - Maintain good employee relations by providing teams with direction, priorities, focus and boundaries. Works closely with Manager and HR to maintain consistency and fairness in administration of company policy and code of conduct. o Provide feedback to employees regarding their performance. o Complete provided performance feedback forms and submit within deadlines for temporary workers and new hires o Provide Manager and Human Resources with feedback regarding both high and low performers. Escalate unsatisfactory performance concerns to Manager and HR in a timely manner. o Provide employees with required resources to perform their job safely and effectively (PPE, Training, Tools) o Communicate results of department safety, quality, customer service and cost KPI’s for department. Maintain and encourage consistent communications to direct reports. o Review and process employee time records in compliance with Federal, State, and Company rules and regulations • Production Controls - Assist in maintaining an effective operating department by controlling activity within prescribed quality standards, production levels, and cost levels, while keeping a focus on safety and manufacturing objectives. o Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. o Assist in controlling inventory levels through cycle counts, scrap transactions, production transactions, and BOM yield reviews. o Monitor product movement and shortages from assembly to all fabrication areas. o Notify supervisor/manager of any problems pertaining to department processes or outcomes immediately. • General Responsibilities o Must be willing and able to perform all duties in the assigned department. o Must be willing and able to work daily / weekly overtime as required o Must be willing to work any shift on a temporary basis for manufacturing upgrades and/or training purposes o Must effectively utilize Outlook (email system) to share information, respond to inquiries, and manage time (training / meetings/ events / etc) o Must abide by all housekeeping and safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic mechanical ability with strong ability to understand mechanical process functions
  • Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge
  • Strong orientation toward: o Safety, quality, and continuous improvement demonstrated by a work history of safe performance, accuracy and attention to detail in the work performed, constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement, ability to effectively implement or respond to change, punctuality and consistent work attendance
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures, including those related to Safety
  • Past or present success in a manufacturing position or equivalent knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a formal or informal leadership role, model appropriate behavior, and set expectations for others
  • Proficient in email, basic Excel and Word usage
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
  • Will be working in a manufacturing plant with varying climate
  • Must be able and willing to work daily and weekly overtime as required
  • Able to stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Able to lift, push and/or pull up to 33lbs individually and up to 66lbs as a team
