The role involves assembling products according to established methods, procedures, and standards, as well as sub-assembly of component parts from bills of materials and production orders. This includes the assembly of special units from engineering prints and blueprints, using various tools and equipment such as air impact wrenches, hand tools, and hydraulic presses. The assembler must thoroughly inspect each completed unit to ensure correct assembly and compliance with standards, complete required documentation, and operate overhead hoists or forklifts when applicable. The position also requires the assembly of gear boxes using liquid nitrogen and operating testing equipment.
