The Assembler position is responsible for performing assigned duties related to the assembly, sub-assembly, packaging of speed reducers or gear boxes. The role involves assembling products according to established methods, procedures, and standards, as well as sub-assembly of component parts from bills of materials and production orders. This includes the assembly of special units from engineering prints and blueprints, using various tools and equipment such as air impact wrenches, hand tools, and hydraulic presses. The assembler must thoroughly inspect each completed unit to ensure correct assembly and compliance with standards, complete required documentation, and operate overhead hoists or forklifts when applicable. The position also requires the assembly of gear boxes using liquid nitrogen and operating testing equipment.

  • Assemble product according to established methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform sub-assembly of component parts from bills of materials and production orders.
  • Assemble special units from engineering prints and blueprints.
  • Use air impact wrenches, assorted hand tools, drivers, and protective leaders.
  • Operate hand arbor presses, pneumatic and hydraulic presses for assembly.
  • Inspect each completed unit to assure correct and complete assembly.
  • Complete required documentation and report of daily work.
  • Operate overhead hoist, cranes, or forklifts when applicable.
  • Assemble gear boxes using liquid nitrogen.
  • Operate testing equipment and air testing equipment.
  • Inspect units to ensure proper painting according to standards.
  • Package painted units ensuring correct labeling and packing.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years of previous experience in an assembly position is desired.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
  • Experience using power hand tools is desired.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to changes in processes.
