Join Tointon's Leadership Team - These dynamic and creative teachers will use pre-engineering in all facets of the Project Lead the Way curriculum. Teachers as leaders will recruit and engage diverse students with opportunities to explore careers in engineering-related fields. Staff will work to attract students to this school who are underrepresented in the field of engineering, including students of color and female students. We are looking for a special kind of leader to collaborate and contribute in building a pre-engineering program for diverse student success. You will help empower staff and students utilize their individual strengths and confidence in this exciting endeavor. Project Lead the Way Curriculum (PLTW) - This engineering pathway empowers students to become confident, independent learners through scaffolded, hands-on-activities, projects and problems. PreK-5 embark on their pathway experience with activities like planning a rescue mission for a trapped zoo animal. In grades 6-8, they take on increasingly complex challenges like designing a home from a reclaimed shipping container. JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation. Responsible to the building principal and department director where assigned.
