About The Position
1st Grade Teacher Christ Community Lutheran School (CCLS) Position Overview Christ Community Lutheran School is seeking a full-time 1st Grade Teacher to join our mission of transforming lives through Christ-centered education. This position carries primary responsibility for the spiritual, academic, and social formation of a 1st Grade classroom in partnership with colleagues, families, and school leadership. The ideal candidate is a skilled, mission-aligned educator who is passionate about early elementary instruction, joyful classroom culture, and the holistic development of young learners in a distinctly Lutheran environment.
Requirements
- Valid teaching certification required
- Demonstrated classroom management and instructional experience in early elementary education
- Clear alignment with the CCLS mission, code of conduct, and statement of faith
- Membership in a Lutheran church congregation required
- Lutheran teacher diploma will be required within the first five years
- Rostered candidates will be issued a divine Call
Responsibilities
- Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with CCLS curriculum and mission
- Establishing and maintaining strong classroom management that fosters respect, responsibility, and a love of learning
- Differentiating instruction and providing targeted support to meet diverse student needs
- Assessing student progress and communicating clearly with families regarding academic and behavioral development
- Leading and participating in faculty collaboration, professional development, and school community life
- Integrating faith formation into daily classroom life, including prayer, devotion, and Christian character development
- Collaborate effectively with grade-level partner teacher and 1st Grade Aides
