Lincoln Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated 1st Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate will create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports students as they build foundational skills in literacy, mathematics, and social-emotional development. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues. The teacher will plan and deliver instruction aligned with school and state standards while fostering a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment. This position reports to the Elementary Principal and follows a contracted schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 185 days per year.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Utah teaching license
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment

Nice To Haves

Master’s preferred
Prior elementary teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons across core subject areas
Support student growth in reading, writing, math, and social-emotional skills
Create a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment
Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and families
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
Communicate effectively and professionally with families, staff, and administration
Utilize technology and instructional resources to enhance learning
Manage classroom behavior using school-approved systems and positive reinforcement strategies
Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and ongoing professional development
Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support school initiatives and student success
Prepare students for state-required assessments as appropriate
Uphold Lincoln Academy policies and model professionalism, integrity, and a growth mindset
