About The Position

The 1st Grade Language Teaching Assistant will assist the teacher in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. This position works under the supervision of a certified teacher, contributing to the educational environment and supporting the learning process for students.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Paraprofessional Certification as required by the State Board and the District.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
